About This Blog

I’ve been wanting to do a blog for a long time. But, I really had no idea what I was going to do. Should it be some kind of journal? Maybe… Or how about a “How-To” site? That could work… So many ideas were swimming around that I couldn’t quite figure out which path to take.

So I just started.

This blog will be what it becomes. I have content that I want to share and over time, I suppose this will define it; having a bias toward action is better than endlessly deliberating.

To give you an idea of what will be coming, I will be posting projects that I completed on my cars, projects I have completed on foreign languages (Japanese), thoughts on studying, and more.

Why “Bernard’s Garage”?

To answer this, I’ll need to break it down into its two components.

Bernard: This is my middle name, though only a few people actually refer to me by it. However, more importantly, this is the name of my grandfather who passed away in 2014. I was very close with him and learned so much about not only automobiles, but also life itself. I deeply respected his outlook on life and his marriage; the older I grew, the more I aspired to be a husband like him someday. Thus, this blog is named in honor of him and the much love and respect he received and so deserved.

Garage: If you’re thinking this has anything to do with automobiles, well, you’re right. I love cars and it is one of my main hobbies. Yet, the definition here goes beyond my four-wheeled friends. If your garage is anything like mine, you’ll probably notice you have more tools than you typically use. Sometimes when cleaning, I’ll think, “Why do I even have this? When did I ever think I was going to use this?” And yet, there will come a time, probably within the next week, where I will need that exact tool.

In our lives, we will amass tools of all kinds. Not physical tools, but things like reading comprehension, foreign languages, calculus, and knowing how to change a tire. They don’t have to be general or well-known either. I know you have had instances where you thought, “When is this skill ever going to come in handy?” Chances are, one day it will. You just have no idea in what capacity.

So, I’m going to keep collecting “tools” and displaying them here, and I encourage you to do the same. As long as you have enough space (trust me when I say your brain has way more space than my two-car garage), continue collecting and learning how to use your tools. You just never know when you might need them.

More coming soon…

As I am currently an MBA student, there is quite a bit going on. But, I will be posting some of my projects and content as soon as possible. If you’d like to stay up to date with my blog, please enter your email below to subscribe!
